What better way to start Catawampus than with an interview with the feline star of the show, Tigger the Kitten!
Tell us about Tigger.
Tigger is a one-year-old shorthair orange. He is a very affectionate cat, and loves to snuggle with both Jon (my husband) and I.
How did you get Tigger?
It's a funny story, actually. About May of 2021, we had an unexpected house guest -- a neighbour cat. Jon and I were sleeping downstairs, and I woke up to find a calico cat on my pillow -- the cat (who I found out later was named Cuddles) was missing her family, and had pulled the screen off of our window, jumped in, made her way downstairs and curled up on my pillow, purring away.
Cuddles' appearance gave us the idea of having a cat of our own. We eventually found Tigger from a local lady, and our lives have been enrichened ever since.
Why did you start a social media account for Tigger?
I had seen quite a few cat Twitter accounts on my personal Twitter, @CarolHansson, and saw the enormous amount of followers different accounts had for their pets. I loved seeing not only the pictures, but of how these accounts could bring joy and happiness to other people. I created @TiggerTheKitten and haven't looked back since.
What is Tigger's favourite toy?
Like most cats, Tigger loves anything that moves. His favourite toy is either a robotic mouse that we got him, or a flopping fish -- or anything that he plays with Jon. Sometimes that IS Jon -- any body part is fair game, whether it be his foot, a leg ...
What is your goal for Tigger's social media?
To bring happiness to people, and to share in his cuteness.
